Oh, How Pinteresting!

It has turned into an absolutely gorgeous day here, I'm so excited! Really wish our barbeque was working. I have shepherd's pie all ready to go in the oven, but it's so not a shepherd's pie kinda night. Oh well, I guess there will be lots of time for barbeques now that the weather is finally coming around.

Once again I spent far too much time on Pinterest this week. But if I didn't, what would I blog about on Wednesday?

I may be a huge slacker when it comes to blogging lately, but I haven't been spending any less time on Pinterest. I need to figure out a happy medium I think - I miss blogging and the friends I was starting to make. I am on the hunt for a new (free) layout as my Paint Shop trial has expired. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Very Pin-teresting #3 - Sweet Potatoes

We love sweet potatoes, but we always eat them the same way. Either we have sweet potato fries or I bake them and then we mash them up with butter. I thought it would be fun to try something new so I decided to try out these roasted sweet potatoes I found on Pinterest. They were delicious and my house smelled amazing while they were cooking. I highly recommend trying this recipe out if you like sweet potatoes!

Very Pin-teresting #2 - Baking

I sometimes feel like a bit of a failure as a wife because I don't really know how to cook and I'm not a very good housekeeper. I realize that this is a mindset that I need to change, and that there are lots of things that I am good at, however, I still want to work on these things. So I'm trying very hard to cook an actual supper three nights a week and to bake something new each week.

Both last week's and this week's baking recipes came from Pinterest. (Of course!) They both turned out really well, and they are both recipes I would try again.

Very Pin-teresting #1 - Splatter Paint

For years and years I was a nail biter. A couple years ago I had acrylic nails put on. I left them on long enough that my own nails got a bit of length. Then I babied them for months. And now I have real nails. I suck at painting them, but I've been practicing.


Recently I pinned this nail tutorial on Pinterest. Had some spare time today so I thought I'd try it out. Not as easy as it looked, and mine don't look nearly as good as hers, but it's still a neat effect.
