Sunday Social

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite Social Media outlet? I am a Facebook addict and I freely admit it. Jonathan hates it and keeps saying he's going to delete his account but I won't let him. I recently started using Twitter a little more as well.

2. Do you subscribe to any daily news reads? If so which ones? I don't subscribe to any. I follow a local paper on Twitter but that's about it.

3. Favorite Magazine to have by the pool? I'm not a magazine lover. I'd rather have my Kobo loaded up with a trashy romance when I'm by the pool.

4. Favorite summertime song? I'm not sure about my favourite "summer song" but the song I find myself turning up and singing along to right now is Here's to Never Growing Up by Avril Lavigne. When we're hanging out on the patio or by the pool I generally like to listen to the stuff I listened to in high school, there's no one song that really says SUMMER to me.

5. Best Summer concert you’ve been to? For years my friend Beth and I headed to PEI for the Charlottetown Festival of Lights concerts. We saw a bunch of great bands, from Lifehouse to 3 Days Grace to Hedley. Collectively they're all my favourite summer concert.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

Last week totally flew by but this week dragged on forever. I think it's because as of 4:30pm yesterday I am officially on vacation. Eight whole days with no plans and no where I have to be. It's going to be magical.

Anyways, I'm  linking up with Ashley and Neely for Sunday Social again. :-)

1. What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake? Everything. I can't pick just one thing, I was so not the least bit fashionable in junior high. I wish I could find pictures, but there weren't digital cameras in those days.

2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pics? My best friends were Jenn, Lauren and Kerry. There are still my three best friends. I stood in Jenn and Lauren's weddings, and they all stood in mine. (Kerry's not married yet, but it's coming!)

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school? I worked, played ringette, and hung out with the girls. Lauren got her license as soon as possible so we used to cruise around in her mom's car.

4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that. I got my first real boyfriend in early June of my grade 12 year. He was a friend of a friend we went to a different high school. We dated all summer and split up just before Thanksgiving. I actually broke up with him. I was devastated at the time, but I know now that I made the right decision.

5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets! We didn't have any secret codes, though we did give boys nick names.

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be? Prom. Hands down. I know it's probably pretty cliche, but it's true.

Sunday Social!

Sunday Social

It's Sunday again so I'm  linking up with Ashley and Neely for Sunday Social. Believe it or not, despite being a girlie girl lover of all things pink and glittery, I am not a huge lover of Valentine's Day. However, I'm trying to get into some blog "habits" and Sunday Social is one of them so here we go!

1. What is the best Valentine's Day you've ever had?
When I was in grade 12 a big group of us got dressed up and went out to a really nice restaurant for dinner. I loved grade 12. I had some amazing friends and we all felt like we had the rest of our lives ahead of us.

2. What is the worst Valentine's Day you've ever had?
I don't think I've ever had a "bad" Valentine's Day. There were a couple years that I was single and my closest girlfriends all had boyfriends that were kind of lonely, but that's about it.

3. What did you do for Valentine's this year?
Just a quiet night at home. (You can read about it here if you're interested.)

4. What is your best Valentine's idea if you're single?
Going out with a big group of friends.

5. What is your favorite Valentine's candy?
I love Hershey Kisses. They're kind of our thing. :-)

6. Favorite Valentine's memory from your childhood?
I don't really have any. It wasn't a big deal in my house.

Have a great week everyone!

Sunday Social - Childhood

I feel like this week just flew by, how is it Sunday again already? And February 10th? We're more than 1/3 of the way through the month! I don't understand how some weeks just drag on forever and others fly by. This week was pretty busy at work, so that may have helped with how fast it went...

Anyway, it's Sunday Social time again, so here we go!

Sunday Social

What was your first car? This question doesn't really fit in the childhood category for me. I was a late bloomer and didn't actually get my license until I was 23. The first car I drove was a 2000 Honda Civic. My parents actually ended up giving it to me as a wedding present. We traded it in a couple years ago for a newer Civic.

Who was your favourite childhood teacher? My grade four teacher, Mr. Morris, was my favourite. He didn't treat us like little kids, and I loved that.

Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities? Share pictures if you can! I started playing ringette when I was six and I've played every winter since. I even coached for a couple years. I can't imagine not playing, it's what I do!

I was also involved in Guiding - I was a Brownie, Girl Guide and Pathfinder. I played the clarinet in the school band from grade 6 to grade 10 but I try not to dwell on that. I'm not a very musically inclinded individual...

What was your favourite birthday party? I don't think I really have a favourite from childhood... I remember really enjoying my 18th birthday though. A big group of us went out to eat and the boy I had a crush on offered to drive me. I loved pretty much everything that year - I was in grade 12, I had amazing friends, and I felt like we could do anything.

Who was your teen celebrity crush? I was totally boy crazy, my room was plastered in posters! Nick Carter and Zachery Ty Bryan were the two big ones though.

What show/movie did your parents now allow you to watch? There really wasn't anything that I can remember not being allowed to watch. Truthfully I probably wasn't really interested in anything my parents didn't want me watching.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Sunday Social

What better way to spend a snowy Sunday morning? It's Sunday Social time again so here I am linking up with Ashley and Neely again. :-)

Sunday Social

1. If you where stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have? My phone and my Kobo - both with never ending batteries!
2. What are two TV shows you'd watch over and over? This is actually a tough one! Probably NCIS and Big Bang Theory.
3. If your house was on fire, what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab? Phone and purse.
4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?  I have a denim skirt that I bought for $16 from Wal-Mart that I wear all the time. Other than that whichever pair of jeans currently fits the best, I'm very much a jeans & sweater girl.
5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us? I don't actually watch a lot of movies... But probably Les Miserable and The Hobbit. (But Pitch Perfect was pretty fabulous too!)
6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures? Reality TV (see my last post!) and chicken mcnuggets.

Sunday Social

Thought I'd try linking up with Ashley and Neely for Sunday Social this week.

1. What is the name of your blog? How long have you been blogging?
This current incarnation of my blog is called "Ms. Sunshine." In my group of friends and at work I tend to be the bubbly, optimistic, cheerful one. That's where I got the name. "Ms. Sunshine" has been around since July 2012, but it never really got off the ground. Back when I was younger I had several blogs, I was active on Livejournal and I used to own several domains. I loved it. I'm hoping 2013 is my year for blogging.

2. Why do you blog?
I love to write. I love to share. And I love meeting new people. I think that basically sums it up.

3. What is the first blog you ever followed?
Here at "Ms. Sunshine" it was either Melanie or Brittany. I used to have a couple great blog friends that I wish were still blogging.

4. What is your favorite post you wrote in 2012?
I didn't blog enough in 2012 to be able to pick a favourite. :-(

5. What are your blogging goals for 2013?
I'd really like to blog more consistently, and I'd like to make some new friends.

6. Name your top 3 favorite blogs.

1. A Coffee Break with Brittany
2. Adorability.org
3. Also Known as Sinead

In other news, I got my partner for the Blogger Bookswap today. Her name is Sara too! Really looking forward to getting to know her and picking out the perfect book!
