Tuesday's Tunes
So, my music taste has always been a bit different from my friends. I've always been a total pop lover, and most specifically a boy-band lover. While my tastes have broadened somewhat now that I'm an adult, there will always be a spot in my heart for my absolute favourite boyband, the Backstreet Boys. I am totally thrilled that they have a new album coming out this month so of course I had to share their new single here today.

Tuesday's Tunes
Sometimes I think my taste in music hasn't evolved since I was 12... For some reason I absolutely love this song. I don't know what it is, but when it comes on in the car I turn it up and sing along at the top of my lungs. Does anybody else have any "guilty pleasure" type songs? I can't be the only one...
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Tuesday's Tunes
Happy Tuesday!
Tuesday has become my least favourite day of the week. It's student discount day and 80% of the customers at my new store are students. It's like Christmas Eve once a week. Every register open, all day. Sigh. At least the day goes fast...
Anyways, today I'm bringing you a song that a friend recommended. She's so much more into music than I am and is always recommended music for my husband and I. She's basically the only way I hear about new music. (And by new I mean new to me, not necessarily "new" new.) I'm lucky I have her.

Tuesday's Tunes
Time for Tuesday's Tunes again! This one is a little different. Today I'm introducing you to a group I just discovered on YouTube. They're called Holden & Finch and they're two guys (Patrick Smith and Tyler Sansom), and I really couldn't find anything out about them! The first song is a mash-up and the second one is an original. I really like their voices and I hope you do too!
Hope your week is going well! :-)

Tuesday's Tunes
I started my new job yesterday. It was scary and exciting and overwhelming all at once. Every store is very different. I have about 70 staff working for me, but the majority of them are students who work one or two shifts a week. (My new store is downtown close to a number of university residences.) There's a new store manager there as well. My first day was good, spent most of the day meeting people and trying to figure out how things work there. I found a couple things I'd like to improve on, but luckily the department runs pretty well.
For Tuesday's Tunes this week I decided to share a new favourite and an old favourite by the same group. I'm very excited about Bon Jovi's new single, Because We Can. I love Bon Jovi. My all-time favourite song is actually Always by Bon Jovi so I decided to share that one too. And then, just for fun, I included We Weren't Born to Follow.
Not sure how much blogging I'll get done this week. I usually use Tuesday for doing some planning/scheduling and unfortunately it's not my day off this week. (I'm working tonight.) I'm not off until Saturday and we're actually going away for the weekend. I'll try to get some stuff done in the evenings, but we're car shopping (!!!) so I'm not sure how much time I'll have. Don't forget about me! :-)

Tuesday's Tunes!
Happy Tuesday!
I love Tuesday, it's my day off. Jonathan and I both used to have Friday off together. (He worked four 12-hour days.) But with his new job he's Monday to Friday. Unfortunately, in my line of work Monday to Friday isn't an option. I work pretty much every Saturday and one Sunday a month. Because it's a slower day, Tuesday became my day off. And it's lovely. As nice as having a day off together was having a day off by myself is really nice too. I get my house cleaning done (well, some of it) and I catch up on my favourite shows (just watched 3 episodes of What Not to Wear...) or I curl up with a good book. It's nice to have a bit of alone time. And I think it makes me appreciate our evenings together more.
Getting down to business now, I'm linking up with Leslyn again for Tuesday's Tunes.
Today I'm sharing Kelly Clarkson's newest single. I love Kelly Clarkson. I don't know what it is, but I love belting her songs out! This one is no exception.

Tuesday's Tunes
Linking up with Leslyn again for Tuesday's Tunes. In honour of their Grammy wins I thought I'd post my favourite song by fun. There's something about this song that I just love, and I have no idea what it is!
Enjoy!

Tuesday's Tunes
The songs I'm featuring today are a little different. Sometimes I like a song because of the lyrics. They really speak to me, or they tell a story. Other times I like a song because it's fun and I like the sound. Today's picks are that type - I really don't really listen to the lyrics, but I bop around doing some sort of weird dance singing along while I'm doing my house cleaning.
What sort of songs do you have on your house cleaning playlist?

Tuesday's Tunes
Linking up with Leslyn today for Tuesday's Tunes. :-)
I've shared this video before, but I absolutely love this song. And, since the CD was released today I decided it was okay to share it again. So, here is Colton's Dixon's You Are. Enjoy!
I'm off today so I'm probably going to play around with my layout a little bit more. Hopefully by the end of today I'll have something I'm happy with.

Tuesday's Tunes
Another snowy day here in Halifax. I feel like we've gotten dumped on the past two weeks. I actually like snow - but only if I don't have anywhere to go. I'm off today, but I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon that I've already postponed once. Hopefully by lunch time the plows will have been out and about and the driving won't be too bad.
I know I said for Tunes Tuesday this week I'd bring you a new song, and I kind of am... This version of True Colours was released on November 12, 2012 - the start of "National Bullying Awareness Week" in Canada. It features a number of Canadian performers. 100% of the proceeds for an iTunes purchase of True Colours will go to Kids Help Phone.
When I was in 6th grade I was bullied at school. Luckily, I had an amazing family and friends from my ringette team to get me through. It sucked (it sucked a lot) but it was nothing like what kids and teens experience now. And, what's even worse, is that as I look back at 8th and 9th grade I realize I was the bully. We had one girl in our class that we totally alienated. We had 16 people in our class, and most weekends there were 15 of us in my parents basement. It makes me cringe when I think about it. I'm sorry Emma.

Tunes Tuesday
I thought I'd take a page out of Brittany's book and start doing Tunes Tuesday. Then I realized that I don't really listen to music anymore. How sad is that? I always have CD on in the car, it's very rare that I listen to the radio at all. So I really don't know any new artists. I just listen to my favourites, and that's about it.
So for today, here are a couple of my favourites. And hopefully next week, I'll have a new (well, new to me!) song/artist to share. Suggestions are more than welcome!
First up is "One Life" by Hedley. I can't help it, I love Jacob Hoggard. The summer he was on Canadian Idol was the worst summer of my life and though it sounds totally ridiculous, he totally helped get me through.
"You and Me" by Lifehouse is the first song Jonathan and I slow-danced to. He had never slow danced (he went to a Christian school that didn't have dances) and we were going to a wedding the next week so we thought we'd better practice. So we danced in the tiny living room of his apartment and it is still one of my favourite memories.
One last oldie, this is "Tangled Up Puppet" by Harry Chapin. This is the song my dad and I danced to at my wedding. It's been three and a half years and I still tear up when I remember that dance. (I know, I'm a sap!)
Hope you're having a great week so far!
